Mickey arrived at Dakara in 1993 as a puppy (4 months) and was the first Clan-Abby dog sent to the USA. This was not the only first for him, he was the first Border Collie to win the following in AKC shows: Best of Breed winner, place in the Group Ring, receive the Award of Merit at the Westminster Kennel Club (The Garden) show and win the prestigious Pedigree Award. His sire NZ Grand/Aust/Inter'l & Jap CH Joy's-Casanova O' Clan-Abby (Mr. Man) was the first Border Collie in New Zealand to earn the title Grand Champion. Besides multiple Group placing's Mickey is an active dog having his CDX (Companion Dog of Excellence), CGC (Canine Good Citizen) awards. has worked sheep, and is in training for UD and agility. Not only has he attended dog shows but has traveled, with me across the country, to horse shows. If one sings the Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Club theme song he will "bark" -- that's how he got his call name. His youngsters are just coming to the show ring. Mickey is my beautiful best friend.
