The first AKC champion of the breed, Best of Opposite Sex at Westminster K.C. 1996. Her forte was more as a foundation bitch than as a show dog, as she has produced Ch Darkwind Newz Star, Ch Darkwind Persephone, (who followed in her dam's pawprints by going BOS at Westminster in 1998) Ch Darkwind Miles CDX, Ch Darkwind Devil May Care, Ch Darkwind On-A- Wing-N-A-Prayer, CDX, Ch Darkwind Hope Springs Eternal HT, Ch Darkwind's Raising Cain, Ch Darkwind Snoballs Chance, Ch Darkwind's Blue Devil, Ch Darkwind Let There Be Light, and in the U.K., British Show Champion Black Booties O'Clan-Abby. She has champion grandchildren too numerous to mention, that have also proven themselves at performance sports and in the herding arena. Helen is the star of our kennel and we will always be grateful to the Vos family for sending her to us. At the age of ten, Helen is still herding the other Border Collies around Darkwind, but always mindful of the fact she is a Princess of New Zealand.
